EnterpriseAlumni Landing Pages

Introduction

EnterpriseAlumni produces corporate alumni software for large companies. New customers work with our design team (hey, that’s me!) to create the design assets for their alumni platform. Owning design implementation is one component of my role, though my primary focus is designing the platform itself.

The design team at EnterpriseAlumni operates similarly to a design agency. We work within each customer’s style guidelines and strive to blend their alumni platform seamlessly into their existing branding.

The most significant component of each customer’s alumni design is their landing page, a publicly-available website that explains the benefits of a company’s alumni network and encourages their alumni to join. At EnterpriseAlumni, I have crafted over 25 landing pages for global customers in a variety of different sectors. Thousands, if not tens of thousands, of former employees have interacted with each of these websites.

Here, I have included the landing pages I designed for PwC, Swarovski, Lumen (formerly CenturyLink), and IMD Business School. These websites all typically follow a similar structure, but they are customized to each customer’s needs.

Note: These mockups reflect the original designs that were sent to engineering. Current landing pages (linked below) may have been updated.

PwC

PwC chose to create two versions of their alumni landing page: one for the United States and one for Mexico. We began by collaborating on the design for the US landing page, and we used this as a foundation to create the Mexico landing page.

The Mexico landing page was updated with entirely new content written in Spanish and tailored specifically for alumni in Mexico.

Swarovski

Swarovski has bold branding: large text, statement photos, and lots of white space. Their retail websites have minimal copy and rely primarily on photography.

For their alumni landing page, we found the balance between using a similar style to their retail site and crafting an informative website featuring more copy and fewer pictures.

Lumen

CenturyLink was one of the earlier customers that established their alumni network with EnterpriseAlumni.

In September 2020, CenturyLink rebranded as Lumen Technologies. To support this transition, we worked together to launch an updated version of their alumni landing page.

IMD Business School

International Institute for Management Development (IMD) is a business school in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The IMD alumni team chose to create a distinct community for their alumni network, IMD Hive, which had its own branding. To reinforce a unified brand identity, we ensured that this branding was visible throughout their landing page, as well as throughout their other image assets.

 Reflection

Owning design implementation for 25+ customers in a variety of sectors has strengthened both my abilities and my confidence as a designer. Along with reinforcing my presentation and communication skills, this experience have given me the opportunity to hone my ability to describe design concepts to non-designers. Additionally, this agency-like experience has given me exposure to a variety of different brands, allowing me practice in a variety of design styles and the opportunity to stay abreast of current design trends.

This process varies greatly from customer to customer. Sometimes I collaborate directly with members of a company’s in-house design team, but I’m often the only designer in the (virtual) room. Some customers are deeply involved in each iteration cycle, and others rely heavily on my guidance. This has provided me with a wealth of experience collaborating with individuals of different backgrounds, job roles, and work styles.

On any project, I’m always happy to receive feedback, and in this case especially—I’m not the authority on each customer’s brand guidelines. Though I ultimately defer to each customer, my job is to advise them based on design principles and best practices, while always keeping any development limitations in mind.

Thus far, I have collaborated with 75+ individuals on landing pages and other assets that are viewed by tens of thousands of visitors. I am comfortable and confident in owning my role in this process as a representative of EnterpriseAlumni.
