Consumer Insight Reports

Introduction

Social Standards is a tech company focused on market research insights. They have developed a comparative analytics platform which transforms billions of social media data points into benchmarked insights about every brand, product, feature, and trend that consumers talk about.

As an intern at Social Standards, I designed a series of consumer insight reports featuring key findings and analysis derived from that consumer data. Throughout my internship, I designed four reports, ranging from 35 to 70 pages, that present market research insights through copy, photos, data visualization, and more.

“Trends Transforming Beverage Alcohol” has proven to be one of Social Standard’s most popular reports. As consumer interest in beverage alcohol has decreased, health and wellness have experienced growth. The first twelve pages of this report are included below.

CBD is predicted to become a $6 billion industry by 2025. To further explore this industry, I designed a total of five reports focusing on CBD consumer trends. The primary report, a broad overview of the CBD market, is shown below. The additional reports each focused on a specific market vertical: Beauty, Beverage Alcohol, Food & Beverage, and Personal Care.

"Plant-Based Food & Beverages"

Plant-based food and beverages, developed by brands such as Impossible Burger and Oatly, have recently experienced remarkable growth. An excerpt of the 42-page “Plant-Based Food & Beverages” Consumer Insights Report is available below.

Reflection

Early in my career, I primarily focused on visual design: playbills, flyers, posters, and presentations like these. Today, I think of these reports as a culmination of my experience in visual design. The skills I developed while designing these reports—iconography, image sourcing, visual hierarchy—have served me well as a product designer.
